Description rmiesen 2008-06-06 23:03:56 UTC
Attempting to edit a large bulleted list with multiple sublevels of bullets
results in the following:

  1) The display takes two or three seconds to redraw itself.
  2) Adding new bullets takes two or three seconds.
  3) Modifying existing bullets takes one to three seconds.

All these issues are taking place on a Pentium Core Duo 2 1.6GHz with 2GB of
RAM. This issue did not exist in v2.3 of OpenOffice.

Do you have "consecutive Numbering" enabled (in
Format.Bullats_and_Numbering.Options)? Then it would be the same as issue 74748,
which will be fixed in OO 3.0.

Looks like dup of issue 74748.

Sorry about the long delay in my response time.

The issue exists without "consecutive numbering" feature enabled. I did some
more experimentation and found that this problem only exists with entries that
are not at the first level of indentation. Bulleted lists with all elements in
any combination of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th level of
indetnation are not affected, but reindenting some elements in (or even all the
elements) to either the 2nd, 5th, or 8th level of indentation causes the bug to
occur.

I am also not able to reproduce the problem by following your instructions.
Could you please try with the newer OpenSymbol font attached in issue 87901?
Otherwise please attach your document to this issue or send directly to
mru@openoffice.org for the case it contains confidential data.
Thanks for supporting us!

Sure thing. I uploaded the file containing an example of the problem I'm
experiencing. I used the OpenSymbol font.

Please let me know if you need any more information / samples from me.

I cannot reproduce the problem using the attached document in OO 2.4.1 or 3.0
DEV300m22.
The creation of new bullet items inside the list happens immediatly (on an old
P4 1,8 GHz).
