Description norbert2 2004-04-18 08:43:38 UTC
In "Options/Spreadsheet/Calculate", there is the the edit-field to change the
amount of "Decimal places".
I found out, that changing this value changes the gobal program setting (for new
documents) AND the setting of the currently opened document.

But often I (and I think also other users) would like to change this only for
the current document.
To do so, currently, it's necessary to apply the changed "Decimal places", close
the document and re-change the "Decimal places" back (in an "empty" OOo-GUI) in
order to have again the "old" value as global program default.

I think this could be handled as the Writer-application handles its default
fonts in "Options/Text Document/Basic Fonts":
There is the checkbox "Current Document only". If it is checked, the gobal
program setting is not affected.

I think such a checkbox would be also very useful for Calc's "Decimal places"
(and also for other options that affect the current document AND program
setting, if there are any).

(also in "Language Settings/Languages" there already is a checkbox "For the
current document only"...)

Please see Issue 47090 regarding the use of "Current Document only" checkboxes.
Comment 5 norbert2 2005-04-09 22:54:04 UTC
@jnoreiko:

Yes, I agree that completely separating options that only affect the current
document from the other options (like you describe in issue 47090) would be a
better solution than introducing such checkboxes everywhere...

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
