drag the column width for column A as wide as your screen.
release your drag action.
It is now not possible to drag is again (smaller or larger)

You can resize the column width by either...

...rightclick the column header and choose "Column Width..."
...choose "Column|Width..." from the Format menu.
...select at least one other column together with the one that is extra wide and
drag the width of the other.

...may be more possibilities.

The problem is, that it is possible to drag the column width greater than the
width of the active window.

Changing Issue Type from DEFECT to ENHANCEMENT.
Reassigning to requirements.

Suggestion: When adjusting the column width by dragging, limit the column width
to the width of the active window. (This also is the behaviour of the main
competitor.)
