Description oc 2008-10-17 09:33:20 UTC
From customer:
Keyboard shortcuts used to navigate to (or select to) the left and right
block margins in Calc in StarOffice 9 for Macintosh do nothing. The keys
are apple-leftarrow, apple-rightarrow, shift-apple-leftarrow and
shift-apple-rightarrow. Tried binding these keys to other menu items and
they are apparently not recognized by StarOffice 9. If I bind a
different key combination to the "To Left Block Margin" function in the
Navigate category, then it works, but for users migrating from
NeoOffice, this will be difficult to adapt to.

The corresponding navigate to or select to the upper and lower block
margins work as expected (apple-uparrow, apple-downarrow, and shifted
versions of the same).

changing platform

@pl: I haven't the slightest idea. Any insights?

@oc: Please stop assigning 3.1 targets to issues. It doesn't fit my schedule,
I'll have to retarget half of my 3.1 issues anyway.

@pl: does this have to be fixed in vcl?

no, for these combinations are a mac specialty and arrive as own events in OOo.
For want of a better analogue I created new key codes and send key events for
them (the alternative would have been additional command events). If you want to
react on them for calc's grid, you'd have to support these new key codes; the
EditEngine itself as well as writer and the controls support them (basically the
places I found that do selection and cursor travelling). See also issue 92224;
some of these special system keys are still on their way into the master
(especially the shift combinations).

Anyway I think that is more a case of enhancement (integration into system
shortcuts).

OOo 3.2 is in show-stopper stage. This issue is re-targeted to OOo 3.x. If this
issue is critical for the current release please target it back.
