Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 94529
automatic filter does not run for continuous multiselect
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:43:58 UTC
Automatic filter does not work if I run it when the whole row is selected, or when I continuously selected two or more cells (from table header). It works only, if i run automatic filter when one cell (from table header) is selected. What have i done: I write to the first row name of columns and then I filled some rows below it. I selected first row and then I started Automatic filter (it asks, if I want to use the row as header of table), but after applying it, when I click on arrow button in cell, the "menu of filter" dont show any of the values from column. (It is empty and give me only possibility to choose one from functions "All", "Top 10", "Standard filter" and nothing more.) Same problem is, when I select continuously two cells in table header and run autofilter - it does not show any data. This problem is also in older versions of OpenOffice.org. I tried to use Go-OO.org 2.4.1 and there is no problem with this. I can there continuously select more cells from one row, or the whole row and automatic filter still works.

I try to use Data -> Define range and then automatic filter works fine. But I think, there is problem, if Calc allow me to start Automatic filter on whole row or on continuously selected cells, "arrow buttons" on cells appears, but if I try to use it, it does not work. I think there should be some warning window with information, that automatic filter will not work, if I will not define range of data. Otherwise it looks like bug. (I am sorry for my english.)
