Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 94024
inserting row or column in between merged cells
Last modified: 2009-04-28 03:51:18 UTC
Inserting row or column in between merged cells is not possible as error comes that this operation is not possible in meged cells. This is very annoying as if there are number of meged cells in many rows then we first need to un merge the same and do the merging again after inserting the cell. There is no such problem in EXCEL. Please improve in next coming release....
This is a duplicate of issue 8302: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=8302 Please vote for that issue. Please also note that I started a discussion on writing the specification for that issue, but almost nobody replied to my post. At the same time, it seems that people do not even fully test the competitive programs to detect what the competition actually does. Inserting an empty row (a new row) should be pretty trivial, but inserting/moving another row is slightly more complex. I would like to do it better than Excel in these situations.
This problem is ling standing. Is there any progress towards solving this issue
