Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 89426
Wrong tooltip wording "Shrink" all over Calc
Last modified: 2019-09-09 08:33:16 UTC
In the Solver dialog, the tooltip of the Shrink icon is "Shrink". When clicking the Shrink icon, the dialog is minimized and the Shrink icon is changed to the Maximize icon". However, the tooltip of the Maximize icon is "Shrink". I think that it should be "Maximize". The same problem happens in the Goal Seek dialog. Stefan, Please assign this to an appropriate engineer.

I checked with "3.0.0 Beta Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [300m2 (Build9301)]" and can confirm the reported effect. Same with 2.4.0 and 3.0.0 English UI. Seems to be a general bug for those special dialogue boxes, I found the same in CALC menus 'Data -> Filter -> Advanced Filter', 'Tools -> Goal seek', 'Format -> Print Ranges -> Edit'. The problem is only visible with unchecked 'Tools -> Options -> OOo -> General -> Help -> Extended Tips'
I had a look at DEV300m18. When "Exteded Tipps" is selected in Tools-Options-OOo-General, then the tipp help "Click to shrink or restore the dialog. [...]" is correct because the button is a "toggle" button. IMHO, the "short" tooltip should be: "Shrink/Restore". Adjusting summary. Reassigned to UFI.
Reassigned.
The Spec Doc http://specs.openoffice.org/calc/features/Solver.odt states that the Shrink button will get the label Maximize once the dialog is shrinked/shronk/shrunken. Pls change either the UI or the Spec Doc. BTW, the Spec Doc is not linked from the http://specs.openoffice.org/calc/index.html page which makes it hard to find.

This issue is not only about the Solver dialog, but all over Calc. Changing summary accordingly. Please have a look at the screenshots attached to duplicate issue #104637 that show the same problem with charts, DataPilot and Solver.
When working on this, please have an eye on issue #107510 (somehow related).
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
