[Samba] Calc - HYPERLINK function on a CIFS link not working
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:13:10 UTC
Have a look at the example file. It contains the following : 1 - A cell containing a Internet link 2 - A cell containing a CIFS link (\\myServer\myDirectory) 3 - A cell using the "HYPERLINK" function and pointing to an internet link 4 - A cell using the "HYPERLINK" function and pointing to a CIFS link Clicking on any link under windows works except for the case "4". In case "2" Internet explorer is opened. In case "4", it does not (cf screenshot).

Hi Daniel, please have a look at this one. Frank
I WAS NOT able to successfully reproduce this bug. My configuration: OS: Windows XP Home Edition 2002 SP2 Machine: AMD Sempron 3000+ (1.58 GHz, 1.18 GB RAM) OpenOffice: v2.3.1 1 - The cell containing an Internet link (Cell A9 with "http://google.fr") 2 - The cell containing a CIFS link (Cell A8 with "\\myServer\myDirectory") 3 - The cell containing the "HYPERLINK" function and pointing to the internet link (Cell D10) 4 - The cell containing the "HYPERLINK" function and pointing to the CIFS link (Cell D9) My default browser (Mozilla Firefox v.2.0.0.11) opens up a correct web-site when clicking on both cells 3 and 1. The French version of Google web-site indeed opens up. When I click on EITHER cell 2 or 4 NOTHING happens. The attached .png pictures claims that if clicked on cell 2, then Internet Explorer opens up, but if clicked on cell 4, then nothing opens up. I was not able to reproduce that behaviour. In my case nothing happens if either link 2 or 4 is clicked. am I missing something? I am not too familiar with CIFS (Common Internet File System). Do I need to do some configuration settings first in order to reproduce the problem? The CIFS link given seems to have only the relative name, but what about the server's name?
