If you create spreadsheet file which contains ListBox or ComboBox, save it as XLS (Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP) and try to open it in MS Office 2007 Excel, it writes error message: "Excel recognize in <filename> unreadable content...." (this is translation from Czech message). It offers to recover content but result is unusable. In older versions of Excel (XP, 2003 tested) you can open this file without problems. XLS files without ListBox or ComboBox looks correct.
hi Daniel, please have a look at this one. IMHO we can close this Issue as the fault is on Excel as XP and 2003 can open such documents without problem. In case you agree, please close. If you don't agree, set to New and re-target please. Frank
I can confirm this and add the following: - Such spreadsheet files can be read by Excel 97, 2000 and 2003, but not by Excel 2007. So this may *seem* an MS issue, BUT: - No such spreadsheet created with Excel 97, 2000 or 2003 gives this problem with Excel 2007; the problem *only* stems from files created by OOo Calc. - Spreadheet files made before approx. August 1, 2007 don't give the problem with Excel 2007, later files do. The only "event" I can think of that might explain this is that around that date I switched to OOo 2.2. - I haven't been able to try it in OOo 2.3 yet, so as yet I can only confirm that the problem existed in OOo 2.2, and apparently persists in 2.3.
Can't repro - see attached .xls produced with 2.4m242 on WinXP. Please either attach .ods with listbox or provide step by step repro.

Can't see your attached .xls... I'am attaching requested .ods file with ListBox and same file saved as .xls (Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP). These files were created in OO 2.3.1 (Czech localization) on WinXP.
(Sorry, forgot to attach the file, but that is not important already) It turns out that Excel2003 SP3 too produces error message when opening .xls with listbox. I have tried OO2.3, 2.4m242 and OO2.1 and they also produces problematic .xls.
