Need ability to be able to default selected cells completely - a clear operation
- including clearing the cell names .

IMHO the outcome for so few users as it seems to affect does not match the
effort needed to implement it. But it's not my decission, let requirements decide.

IMHO there's no much effort in adding cell name to Delete Contents dialog which currently includes:
Delete all
Text
Numbers
Date & time
Formulas
Comments
Formats
Objects
