To reproduce:

Start with two scalc files somewhere.

Open one in scalc

Do Edit->Compare Document

Select to the other document

Exit scalc

Try to delete the other document... "file is in use" error.

Workaround:

Exit the quickstarter ... file becomes freed.

note: a search on "file lock" returns other clearly related but not clearly the
same issues.

I'm not confirming with OOo 2.2.1 on Linux OpenSUSE 10.2

Confirming using 2.3m225 on WinXP. Repro steps:
1. Open any spreadsheet file, Edit, Compare files.
2. Navigate to some spreadsheet (specifically .xls, others might work too) and 
click OK.
3. Click Reject (other choices might work too) and close dialog with closer 
(red cross).
4. Navigate to second file and try renaming it - you will get error message as 
the file is locked.

I'm not confirming on Linux.

Confirming on WinXP.
Not confirming on WinXP when OOo Quickstarter is not running and exit Calc.
