Since the chart module already can do a regression fit of the data that draw on
the graph and show it into the graph as a plotted function, why not show the
equation too (and its coefficients) that generates the fitted points, as an
option, on the graph, as already seen in MSExcel?

That is a request often ask for. May I suggest to vote for issue 7998?
