Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7602
range selection behaviour proposal
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:37:45 UTC
for example for formulas in cells: left mouse button starts selection (red rectangle) right mouse button cancels current selection, so one can start new selecting range (see issue 7188 consistent select/deselect behaviour) Strg + left mouse click & hold should "enable" non-4-sided (nicht-4-eckig) ranges like one selects multiple non-adjacent cells (see issue 7601 allow non- 4-sided ranges) drop and drag of left mouse button (!) "brings up" "to be next" input range !! most important !! the last point is for formulas needing 2 or more input ranges (arguments), so there is an easy range selection behaviour!

issue still valid as per OOo 3.0 Beta m2. currently, one can simply reselect to nullify the prior selection. This is not bad. When needing multiple input ranges, there is no way however to not having to position the mouse pointer carefully over the appropriate "icon".
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
