Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 75452
recognize "h" as representing hours
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:50 UTC
At the moment, when you type "11:", OOo will recognize it as an hour and replace it with 11:00. In France (and I suppose in other countries), we often use "h" as a delimiter for hours instead of the ":". For example: "11h00", instead of 11:00". So, in Calc, it would be nice that when typing "11h" it would recognize it as an hour and stick to the HH"h"MM format, which would give "11h00".
Hi Eike, sounds good. Please have a look at this one. Frank
I'm not sure this would be such a good idea, because it would add yet another automatism people might not expect. It may be ok for an input of 11h00 and the like, but may be irritating for 11h, consider a sequence of 11a, 11b, ..., 11h, 11i, ... The letter 'h' would also be locale dependent, 'h' for hour or heure is fine for English and French (and even accepted in Germany), but may be different in other locales, if at all, which means we'd have to introduce some kind of an optional HourSeparator.
