Description sandreas41 2007-03-03 21:56:16 UTC
editing a formula with fixed cell references by dragging the colored square to a
new location
causes the formula to no longer be fixed to that location.

(if moving from row 61 to row 70)
What was $C$61 becomes $C$70:C70
which when copied to numerous new cells is no longer fixed to $C$70
and the formula breaks, and must be edited by hand.

This bug introduced sometime between 2006.Aug and 2006.Nov.25

See attached spreadsheet.

Seen in 2.2RC2 680m9(9124) on MacIntel
Reduced test case:
Enter in an empty spreadsheet an absolute reference
for example in Cell A2: =$A$1
Click in the Input Line to edit the cell
Drag the highlighted square from A2 to A3
Now the formula shows =$A$3:A3 which should be just $A$3
The absolute reference is now mixeed relative and absolute.
Comment 3 sparcmoz 2007-03-04 07:02:12 UTC
reduced test case example should have started with:
"for example in Cell A1: =$A$2"
...
Comment 4 sparcmoz 2007-03-04 09:33:41 UTC
This problem does NOT exist in 2.0.4 680m5 Build 9073. Setting keyword for
regression.
