Open a new calc and fill a whole column.
Select the column and paste it as Calc8 into a writer doc.
Double click this OLE and drag the frame to show the cells, as you can see,
nothing is shown in the OLE, but the Edit line for a filled cell will show the
content.
Deselect the OLE in Writer and switch back to Calc.
The visual apperance of the filled column is gone, the edit line still shows the
content.

change target from 2.x to 3.x according to
