Cannot replicate.

Please could you download the latest version of openoffice.org - version 2.1 and
try to repeat the problem. Could you also state your operating system, language
pack and any language settings.

os: Windows XP,
the language pack: en-US

Keep the cursor in the note object! then click another sheet.

Confirming OS X with OO 2.1. To amplify the original report: after switching to
a new sheet while editing a note, click to focus on a new cell (for example)
does not work. Typing will add material to currently selected cell works, but
Delete doesn't work. Hitting Esc cancels the edit on the (hidden) note, and
allows normal operation to resume.

Since it's a bit obscure and easy to work around (hit Esc), P4 seems appropriate.

Hi Niklas,

checked with m199 and strange things happen.

Insert Note, Edit Note, Show Note, Double click Note and switch to Sheet2.
You are not able to enter anything. Switch back to Sheet1. Your not able to
enter anything, neither into a cell nor into the note. Only solution to get it
back to work is context menu with mouse over note.

Not really convenient.
