Description romolo 2006-08-02 01:28:49 UTC
Open a new spreadsheed,
write in A1: 1, in A2: 1, select A1-A2 drag using the bottom right corner on A3-
A12 and it will fill A3-A12 with 1 (right behaviour)
Write in A1: jan, in A2: jan, select A1-A2 drag using the bottom right corner
on A3-A12 and it will fill A3-A12 with feb, mar, apr, maj, jun, jul, aug, sep, oct, nov
(wrong behaviour)
The problem is present at least in the italian release of OOo, check on other
language, the name of the months are translated just to clarify, the test was
made with gen,gen and corrispondant italian months.

I checked with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and was able
to reproduce the reported behaviour for cell content "calendar date". All other
works as expected, as you can see in my attached 'mytest.ods'

@romolo:
Pls. specify your OS and Platform!

It's nothing new, I also see that "1.1.4 (German) WIN XP: [645m52 (Build 8824)]"

Hi,

IMHO neither a bug nor an enhancement. TZhe problem is just that the sortlist
get a higher priority than the selection. I think this is more logical.

Nevertheless I re-assign this as enhancement to the requirementsteam for
decission finding.

I will prefer to have this issue marked as defect, it's causing a lot of
confusion in 80+ users I forced to migrate to openoffice.
Furthermore for migration is incongruent with the behaviour of the concurrency.
No other spreadsheet in this world behaves like that.

The problem is that drag-filling by two equal dates produces the same results
as for Jan-Jan - enter 1.1.1 in A1 and A2, select A1:A2 and drag-fill down -
you will get date increment (as opposed to integers.
