Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 6761
Automatic update of number format of cells in case of change
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:11:16 UTC
it's time mask HH:MM which doesn't update HH:MM:SS in chart; in attached, document, change the mask in the left-most column and see.
Created attachment 2440 [details] note: this file is the file where the chart mysteriously(!) changed its habit, see issue 6704
If you change the number-format of cells, there is usually NO update of the chart data. You have to press F9 explicitly to inform the chart about the update. Exception to this rule is: when you change the number-format of cells, other cells that are calculated (like random-numbers) are recalculated. If such a calculated cell lies in the range of a chart, the chart is updated because of the changed cell-content. So this is an indirect 'automatic' update
if it doesn't cost too much resources (lookup is a chart made which uses this cell? that chart->update axis)
Hi Bjoern, I've set the flags to OOo2.0 as this seems to be something for the new Chart engine. If not practicable for you, please reassign it to Falko for clarification. Frank
This is a Calc issue, as I cannot update my number format if I don't get any change-notification. Falko, please check whether we want this feature, and if so, what the effort would be for Calc (and first if it is feasible)
Automatic update of number format of cells in case of change. Exapmle: A row of cells is formatted as time HH:MM. In Chart the corresponding values are displayed as MM:SS., too. Now the user changes the format to HH:MM:SS. Chart will only update after pressing F9. This should happen automatically (like with changed values).

raised priority and target due to the fact that we run into it on testing the new chart. Would be good to have it sooner better than later. Frank
Hi Niklas, please take this one to your ownership.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
