There was a post through Korean community forum about this enhancement.

Sometimes, users need to merge cells in multiple regions. For now, they have to
repeat run 'Merge Cells' menu item for each region (because the menu item is
deactivated if selected region is not continuous).

They can select mutiple region easily with CTRL + drag. It would be more
convinient if they can do merge selected regions with one menu run.

Problem is just to determine what cells should be merged
