Writer has a feature named insert field, that makes it possible to add computed
content, such as date, page number ... etc

No simillar feature is present in Calc. The hability to insert fixed date or
current date, the way writer manages it would certainly come handy.

The use of functions, though it makes it possible to insert the date of the day,
does not give the hability to insert fixed date.
