Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 53309
Error when exporting csv document [Only Active Sheet Saved]
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
When trying to export a Calc document to csv format, I receive the following error: "Warning saving document [filename] Only the active sheet was saved .." I assume this is because there is no delimiter for separating sheets. It seems to me that it would be better to create an optional sheet delimiter or give a warning prior to saving that saving to csv will only save the active sheet. At the very least, we could remove the warning if the active sheet is the only sheet with text on it. The error occurs even if all other sheets are empty.
With Win XP (Service Pack 1) and OOo 2.0 Beta, I am able to recreate this when I do a File-> Save as -> CSV
Hi, this is not a defect ! CSV is a one sheet format by definition, so we can't introduce a sheet delimiter. So there is only one thing left, the one for not showing the warning if there are other sheets with no content. This is an enhancement request and is handled by the requirements team. IMHO we shouldn't change this. Frank
No real need for the exclaims...we can hear you just fine. You can call it what you want, but to the user who has to regularly use csv files [for export to parsers, etc.], it is a major pain to hear that annoying thud and have to close the window every time he saves it. Why not at least allow a checkbox "Do not show this warning in the future." or "Do not show this warning in the future when non-active sheets are empty."
