Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 51706
Auto Filter disappearing when using on multiple sheets
Last modified: 2005-07-09 06:51:17 UTC
When using auto filters on multiple tabs, auto filter control buttons dissapear on initial tabs with filter still applied. User must jump through hoops to get filter range to be removed. Steps to reproduce: 1) Create new spreadsheet 2) On sheet 1 create table of dummy data 3) select data range and set auto filter 4) filter out a range 5) On sheet 2 (create if necessary) create dummy data 6) select data range and set auto filter 7) Filter out range 8) Go back to sheet 1 and you will see filter is still applied, but controls are gone. Only way to remove filter is to turn on auto filter on sheet 1, then turn off auto filter. It is quite possible that this issue is related to 50750 Tim
I just verified that creating a filter on a second sheet will disable filter on previous sheet even if the filter is not applied. It is especially problematic if the filter is applied though since it is difficult to remove the filter. Also verified that bug existed back to 1.9.104 Since I use auto filters alot, this issue blocks me from using calc at all until it gets fixed. Back to Excel I go :[
Hi, what's about using the query facilities of OOo ? Using 'Autofilter two' as keyword for the 'description entry' section, 'all words / strings' from the dropdown box to the left of the field and spreadsheet as component would have lead you with a few clicks to Issue 12666 which this Issue is a double too. Also Prio was much to high. Frank *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 12666 ***

Frank, Sorry for the dupe. I really hate it when I post a dupe :[ I will try to be more global in my searches. Re: Priority level I feel that not having multiple autofilters per document makes OOO Calc unusable for quite a few of the documents my team maintains on a daily basis. I felt that the rows remaining hidden with the autofilter controls removed fith the `Functional area gets lost` bracket which is the reason I posted as a P2. Although in reading the P2 spec again, I do agree that this really is still a P3 issue. Tim
