Description agdconsulting 2004-06-27 21:10:25 UTC
Lotus 1-2-3 recognized formulae using the plus sign (+) or negative (-) as the
first symbol in a cell. Excel recognizes both (+) and (-) as legitimate
keystrokes to begin entering formulae (it prepends an = to such formulae).
Since both (+) and (-) exist on numeric keypads, whereas (=) doesn't, formulae
are entered quicker using these 1-2-3 conventions.
