Description norbert2 2004-05-03 11:18:13 UTC
- Please open the attached document

- select the area with the mouse, beginning at the blue cell and ending in the
green (merged cell)

- click "Format/Druckbereiche/Festlegen":

As you can see, the printing-area is not correct:
The green cell is not included in the print-area, although it was selected.
That's a bug.

Hi Bettina,

for compatibility reasons we should act as Excel do. They are using the bottom
right corner in selections as reference point.

Just my 2 ct's

Not only because "compatibility reasons" you should do like Excel.

This is not an enhacement, it's bug, because not the whole selection is used as
print-area!

I've tested this. The green cell at the top left corner is included in the
print area in my test, using English 1.1.1 final. What's not included is the
very bottom row whose right edge is a merged blue cell. But this is due to
issue 27955, I think.

Isn't this issue a duplicate of 27955, by the way?

No, I think not, although both issues are about merged cells.

This issue describes the problem, that not the whole selection is set as
print-area ...
... While issue 27955 describes a general selection problem with merged cells.

kohei->norbert2: Ok. I think I understand the distinction between the two. :-)

BTW, I've just attached a patch to Issue 27955 what should also fix this issue.

I think that this issue must be closed with OOo 2.x.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
