Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 27630
insert copied or cut cells, rows, columns
Last modified: 2008-05-17 23:05:16 UTC
Were good if in calc were possible to insert copied or cut ranges with one command (like in Excel). Works like this: - select range, - copy or cut the range - open context menu - choose command 'Insert copied (cut) cells (rows, columns)' (The exact content of command is detected automatically depending where the context menu is opened, what is selected and was it copied or cut)
Do you wanna that a cut and paste, when you paste in a column that has data, reorganize the cells instead of erase the old data? It's because "like in Excel" may be a lot vague.
Yes, when I talk about inserting, I mean inserting rows/columns/cells. Maybe it is a bit 'like Excel', but saves a lot of time. It should work like this: - calc 'knows' what formed speadsheet data is in clipboard - when right-clicked on specific area, behaviour is 1. if celected and copied were columns - right-click on row headers - command is not displayed in menu - right-click in the table area - command is not displayed in menu - right-click on column headers - command 'Insert copied (cut) columns' is displayed 2. if celected and copied were rows - right-click on row headers - command 'Insert copied (cut) rows' is displayed - right-click in the table area - command is not displayed in menu - right-click on column headers - command is not displayed in menu 3. if celected and copied were cells - right-click on row headers - command is not displayed in menu - right-click in the table area - command 'Insert copied (cut) cells' is displayed - right-click on column headers - command is not displayed in menu Further command acts like insert + paste, i.e. inserted will column/row/cell range, equal to copied range, when inserting cells the 'Insert cells' dialog is diplayed to define how exitsing cells are moved.
