Description lallen 2003-11-03 21:51:00 UTC
After copying a sheet, using move/copy sheet, to an existing workbook (either
the same as the source or a different one), the copied sheet cannot be printed
or previewed. When copying to a new workbook, print and preview do work, but
the page settings are lost.

Hi,

this is a double to Issue 3560.

Not copying the page settings is the intended behaviour.

Frank

I find this very counter-intuitive. If the decision has been made not
to retain the print area settings, then it would be more logical to
default the print area to everything, rather than nothing (which is
what happens when you copy to a new workbook).

Also, why aren't page settings retained when copying a sheet within a
workbook?

Hi,

1.) If you have defined printranges and on copying a sheet these
ranges are reset to default, this is not what the user want. Also why
should the print range doubled ? Is it really what the user want's ? I
think no because you get the same page / pages printed twice if we
copy the print range also.

2.) As OOo is style centric and styles can't be copied with the sheet
because there could be a style with the same name but different settings.

1) I'm not sure yet that you fully understand the problem, but as
long as Issue # 3560 is being implemented as a feature, then I'm
happy.

2) Agreed.
