Description gailtb 2003-06-09 07:45:02 UTC
I set the format of a cell to Date, DD/MM/YY.
Entering 1/6 in the cell defaults to 1 June this year, as I expect.
But entering 1/2 and 1/4 defaults to fractions instead of dates.

This was also an issue in version 1.0.1 from which I've just upgraded.

This behaviour is a feature which you can turn off by TOOLS-AUTO
CORRECT-OPTIONS-"Replace 1/2... with ...".
Comment 2 gailtb 2003-07-15 21:46:52 UTC
This isn't meaningful behaviour. I want 1/2 to convert to a
fraction character in a numeric field, so I don't want to disable
the auto-correct option. But it just doesn't make sense for this
behaviour to apply in a date field.

As it is mentioned in
http://specs.openoffice.org/calc/ease-of-use/enhance_number_recognition.sxw
the default for the autoformat has to be changed => Bettina, please take over
for targeting a future implementation.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
