Request for Time and Date Shortcut Keys in Calc
Last modified: 2007-07-22 13:45:40 UTC
In xl, a couple of useful keystrokes were available to automatically enter the time or the date into a cell. This is especially useful in a spreadsheet used as a time log. Sorry, I cannot remember which keystroke was which, because it has been a while since using xl, but control-semicolon was one combination, and control-colon (control-shift-semicolon) was the other. Can we have something similar in calc?
Hi Bettina, 1 4 u Frank
Hi Bettina, Daniel Rentz posted a message to the users list that says he has a published article that describes how to do this. Unfortunately, for me, I am not able to read German. But...maybe the article affects the status of this issue? Here is the link to the mail thread: http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=682325&listName=users Diane
Well, it is a "How To", it includes a few macros, and how to attach them to key combinations. I may translate it and put it somewhere on the OOo sites... I think to fix this issue we need a "real" implementation, and put the short cuts into the default configuration.
I assume this would also include an associated "Insert current timestamp" toolbar icon?
