Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 1339
Named cells are not color-coded (highlighted) in cell-edit mode
Last modified: 2017-07-20 18:39:49 UTC
When you double click on a cell with a formula using referenced variables it doesn't highlight the right cells. I'll submit an example.
Created attachment 427 [details] I have notes in the file that should make it clear, what is going on.

Highligting of names is not yet implemented, but should work in future. Therefor I change the issuetype from defect to enhancement

Support highligting of names. When you double click on a cell with a formula using referenced variables it should highlight the right cells. (see also attached document)

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
(July 2017) This bug was logged SIXTEEN YEARS AGO. This is highly desirable functionality and the lack of named cell highlighting feels like a glaring omission especially given that it works for unnamed cells.
BTW #111291 looks like a duplicate of this issue.
