Description the98symingtons 2015-02-18 14:54:20 UTC
in excel, when you type text, the autofill seems to suggest the latest occurrence of similar text, rather than the oldest. for example, i have two categories in a column: Utilities-NJ and Utilities-NY. i only ever use the NY anymore, and excel suggests that, since it was the most recently used. open office prompts for the NJ category, and always seems to prompt for the earliest match, rather than the latest. can this be fixed, or is it a 'feature'?

This is not AutoFill but AutoInput function.
I confirm that input datas are proposed in alphabetic order.
This behavior is correct for me and I disagree to have the most recently used.

i guess "correct" depends on what you're used to. "better" isn't always better for everyone. perhaps i should just cave and buy office... thank you, however, for clarifying 'autofill' vs. 'auto input' - not like "fill" and "input" would be synonyms to anyone but an uneducated user who speaks english rather than code...

I'm not a developer but an end-user like you.
Remember that Calc is not a clone of MS-Excel.
You are the first one to have this need. If other users vote for this RFE maybe a developer will take a look on it.
Wait and see...
