My OpenOffice crashes EVERYtime I am using it, after just a few minutes. It informs me that the programme can be recovered the next time I want to use it, but the it crashes AGAIN.  It is going to drive me to an early grave, or at least to drink

I assume that your were hit by a known problem which had been already fixed in the following releases (4.0.0, 4.0.1 and 4.1.0) - see first point in the known issue section of the release notes of version 3.4.1 - http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases/3.4.1.html

It would be great, if you could report back on your problem and if it is the above mentioned known issue
