Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 120521
Cell range validity created by shrink button applied to cell cursor position instead of selected cells range
Last modified: 2014-02-14 07:24:59 UTC
Build: Aoo3.4.1_r1369843 Steps: 1. Launch Aoo and new SC doc. 2. Input some data in Sheet1, e.g. input data from A1 to A10. 3. Switch to another sheet, e.g. Sheet2. 4. Select some cells, e.g. B2 to B5. 5. Select "Data->Validity". 6. In validity dialog, choose "Cell Range" in "Allow". 7. Click Shrink button for "Source" field. 8. Select cell range from A1 to A10 in Sheet1. 9. Click Shrink button again then Click OK. Defect: Only validity for cell B5 in Sheet2 is created, other cell validity is not created.
Additional Info: (a) Still Reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1566800 - 2014-02-12]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile. (b) Already Reproducible with sever installation of "OOo 3.3.0 English UI / German locale [OOO330m20 (Build 9567)]" on WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) DE, first version (available for me) with 'Shrink' function at that place (c) Problem only is visible if you really do a cell selection in reporter's step 8. If in step 2 you insert a range name "condition" for A1:A10 and in step 8 type "condition" into input line instead of doing cells selection validity will be applied to correct cells range B2:B5 (d) Also not a problem when following reporter's steps, but in step 8 Type "$Sheet1.$A$1:$A$10" into input line instead of selecting cells (e) I never observed that because I always use named ranges, but currently 'Shrink' is completely useless here for selecting cells (f) We will have to check whether the problem is limited to "Validity" or a general problem of that Shrink - Source Browser
