Description slarti 2003-02-25 18:07:32 UTC
I've got a spreadsheet with embedded graphics files contained in column B. They
are anchored to the cell and thus should move along with the row or column. Now
if I sort the sheet, using some other column to sort by, the graphics column is
not affected and stays as it is.

I would love to add a stripped version of that file (currently ~900kB)
but most obviously there's another bug: deleting rows containing these
graphics does not delete the graphics (file size doesn't decrease as
expected). I'll have to check that...

Ok, silly me, deleting of course works if 'objects' in the Delete
dialog box is marked as well.

To check:

sort on any column (C,D,E) and see how the graphics stay put.

According to the OpenOffice.org roadmap
(http://tools.openoffice.org/releases) this issue was retargeted to

Niklas, if autofiltering is used, graphics anchored at cell are not hidden. Same
issue or should I file a new one? Tested with 320m8 on WinXP.

I have the same problem in OpenOffice Calc 3.3.0 in Linux (Fedora 14). This is a
very annoying bug in Calc and very counter-intuitive. In Excel this works.
Comment 17 ldog16 2011-01-25 14:18:56 UTC
I really wish that this problem would get addressed.
Comment 18 chrlucas 2012-01-05 15:34:21 UTC
Up, very annoying bug, impossible to resize the cells or sort them, the images shrink or don't sort...
Comment 19 BlipBertMon 2012-01-30 21:31:36 UTC
Please, Free software is one thing, but maintaining features which are abjectly broken is an inviting distraction to waste copious quantities of valuable time.

Both attached images and attached hyperlinks fail to follow rows containing cells attachments are anchored to when those rows are sorted.

The 'feature' to anchor an attachment to a cell should be elided completely if it shows no signs of functionality.
Comment 20 lkgoo 2012-07-16 02:05:40 UTC
I am having this problem too. At least this forum is good for confirming that I'm not crazy and it's a legitimate bug. The "anchor to cell" function does not actually anchor the graphic to anything. All graphics are in permanent, un-sortable positions in the file...in other words, it's no longer a spreadsheet.

Being unable to sort graphics is so last century! Apparently this forum is useless for having the bug addressed, in nine years! Continually changing the login and login procedures guarantees a low vote, which is a good trick!

The response to this bug shows the OOO attitude is "you got what you paid for." Or "freeware = crapware." No news there I guess. Sigh.
