1. hide some columns
2. select a block that includes columns on each side of the hidden columns
3. context menu Copy
4. paste into another program (mail agent, text editor, ...)

Result includes hidden columns (Excel will exclude hidden columns)

Note that only pasting to other applications excludes hidden, pasting within
Excel includes hidden.
