Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:44:45 UTC
1) Download the http://www.google.com.hk/intl/zh-CN/images/logo_cn.gif to local 2) New a Spreadsheet document 3) Insert the gif from menu Insert->Picture->From File 4) Right-click the gif and open the "Position and Size" dialog from the context menu, and switch to "Rotation" tab 5) Change the rotation angle and click "OK" to close the dialog Result: the gif's rendering quality is damaged. * The defect only happens in Spreadsheet, Presentation has no such problem. Text Document doesn't have such UI entry.

It is OK in OOo2.4.3 and broken in OOo3.2.0. I work on WinXP. It happens with gif and bmp format, but not with png or jpg. Already the preview while rotating is bad.
I can confirm this bug also with jpg images. OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 OOO320m19 (Build:9505) ooo-build 3.2.1.4, Ubuntu package 1:3.2.1-6ubuntu2~10.04.1 The rotated image quality in the exported PDF file is very poor, but is the same regardless if the pdf is exported from OOo Calc or Draw. Rotation test at 35°. Image inserted via menu entry Insert->Image->From file Visual quality of rotated image in Calc is very bad but varies greatly as the Calc window is redrawed due to movement of overlapping windows.
