Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 111037
An example of XLS/ODS file which slows down OOo
Last modified: 2019-06-04 01:06:22 UTC
Hello. In the attachement you can find an example of ODS file (it was exported from XLS which had exactly the same problem) that slows down openoffice. Just try to delete a column or select all text and do something with formatting etc. OOo will think for minutes after each action. Google Docs edits this file without any problem. Thank you.

I can confirm the defect with DEV300m76 on WinXp. If I enter something first time, OOo sleeps for 5 seconds. It reacts normally to further actions.
Regina, do you mean you don't have any problems with file after first sleep? Can you delete the column A, for example, without any sleep/slowness?
You are right, deleting columns is still slow. Editing of cells is normal. For me it looks like the comments are reason for the slowness. If you remove the comments, the reaction seems to be normal. To remove all comments, cut the whole area and paste it with "paste special", where you check all but "notes".
Seems to be the same as issue 109276 and issue 102716.
It seems that you are right. Pasting without comments solves the problem. Btw, as far as i can see, there was no reaction/solution for the tickets you mentioned. So i suppose mine will have the same status? :-)
Issue 111390 seems to be concerning the same or at least a similar problem. Insert a new line 9 takes: 0,5s with "2.4.1 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [680m17(Build9310)]" 10s with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]" 15s with "Ooo-Dev 3.2.1 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [OOO320m16 (Build 9497)] (only 10s with unhidden comments) So it seems that the problem is not so heavy as with LINUX, but also visible. My opinion: these all are DUPs of Issue 109276
Sorry, wrong OS
retested this bug today with AOO416m1(Build:9790) - Rev. 1844436 2018-10-23 12:57 under win7 pro (x64) SP1, still an issue, pls. see add. comments in #128121, could somebody pls. recheck and raise priority? see also #109276
