Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 109236
Bad export to PDF for tables in writer and calc
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:50:34 UTC
1. Open attached TrayTek.pdf 2. Select any part of table, Copy it 3. Open Calc, new doc 4. Paste. You see - data putted in separated cells like in pdf file. Now try to do anything like this with any table in any pdf generated by OOo. You can not paste data back to Calc cells each to each. Some example files I have attached. What is needed for solve this problem?
Created attachment 67809 [details] Foreign exported PDF
Created attachment 67810 [details] calc to pdf
Created attachment 67811 [details] writer to pdf
Created attachment 67812 [details] sources for export (calc and writer)
I do not reproduce the problem with OOo 3.2.0 FR under Ubuntu 8.04. Paste as unformatted text in Calc and choose csv import options. I tried fixed width and it worked well. Regards. JBF
Fixed width is not solution. We loose formatting (bold, italic) & not every time values in cells are one-char-width. I think, now on exporting to pdf OOo do not use tables as tables. In any pdf with tables produced by OOo you can not control selection in table by mouse well. And can not copy-paste. First attached file produced NOT in OOo. In it all selection and copy-paste goes right.
Confirming with OO3.2 on WinXP and Acrobat reader - as described.
