Description Andrea Pescetti 2010-01-25 10:30:17 UTC
1. Create a new Calc Document, with two sheets named "1" and "2". In sheet 1,
write "test1" in A1 and "test2" in A2. In sheet 2, write "test1" in B2. I'll
attach a sample document shortly.
2. Go to sheet 1.
3. Edit - Find and Replace - Search for "test1" replace with "replaced", check
"Search in all sheets" in the Extra Options.

Expected: the replaced cells are selected/highlighted after replacements.

Actual: the highlighting is shown on sheet 1 but with the references from sheet
2: i.e., in sheet 1 the (empty) cell B2 is highlighted, but B2 was replaced in
sheet2.

This can lead to confusion when operating on multiple sheets.

Seems this issue can be closed: current versions do not highlight anything when "Search on all sheets" is active.

I wouldn't say the problem is fixed, just avoided. The current behavior is inconsistent: the matches are usually highlighted and the user may expect that behavior; seeing no highlights may be confusing.

The problem exists always in AOO 4.1.1 RC1, Linux64 as described in the sample document.

Hmm, ok. I don't see it following the steps with my document but I do still see it I use the test document attached here.

So there is still some problem; I don't know why it should work differently for mine.
