Spreadsheet Paste Special - Select One Option Only
Last modified: 2013-12-12 16:42:59 UTC
When using Paste Special Command, (Menu -> Paste Special OR by typing CTRL+SHIFT+V) we are introduced to a form with options on what should be pasted. We often have to choose only one of them, like eg. formulas or formats. To do so we have to: 1. uncheck paste "All" checkbox 2. uncheck all the unwanted options checkboxes 3. choose the option we want to use by clicking its checkbox, unless it was left checked in the previous step. When for the first time we need to paste "numbers only" we have to uncheck seven checkboxes and check one. (eight clicks!!!) The last chosen option is remembered which is good unles we need to paste special a different set of items (options). The main purpose is to reduce unnecessary clicking to uncheck options checkboxes. I suggest an enhancement to enable <CTRL+click> the desired option to choose it. So when we want to check only one item (option) we <CTRL+click> this option's checkbox. The result would be: the chosen option checkbox is checked and all the others are unchecked. <CTRL+click> means clicking while holding the CTRL key pressed. Then you could add another option by clicking its checkbox (without CTRL).
Useful enhancement. I suggest 1. "Paste all" unchecked by default when Ctrl+Shift+V 2. Addition of "Uncheck all" check box
