Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 105902
Calc crashes while deleting or removing cell contents
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:11:47 UTC
In a large spreadsheet (4,2Mb), 11 tabs Calc crashes while deleting cell contents in just one specific tab. When deleting cell contents in other tabs, the program continues to work. I found a work-around by disable the automatic recalculation. After deleting the cell contents I enable automatic recalculation and Calc keeps running. I tried different ways to delete cell contents: by using backspace, delete button and through the menu Bewerken - Inhoud verwijderen. The content I try to delete are numbers and plain tekst (pasted in the spreadsheet from a database query). The tab contains only five columns and over 5800 lines. Exporting to another file format ( .XLS makes it 48 Mb) and edit the tab crashes OO as well.
please attach a sample document so that we can reproduce the problem.
@raal, As you can read the document is 4,2 Mb in size. Your server only allows me to upload 1 Mb. Zipped it is still 2 Mb. Do you have a FTP server to upload? How to proceed from here?
@spa2036: you can send the sample document to me by E-Mail. Your OOo version is outdated. Can you please try 3.1.1?
Reproducible with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI activated [OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]"! I deleted row 12 in Sheet "qry Dessin" using menu 'Edit -> Delete Cells -> complete Row', and OOo crashed. Unfortunately no crash report has been created. You can download the sample file from a.m. URL User: testfiletester Password: testfiletester
Reproducible with "Ooo Dev 3.2.0 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [DEV300m60 (Build 9425)]"! OOo recovery created a crash report with ID "r4m8ydc"
Hi Niklas, please have a look
It's a problem of memory usage for undo. The undo action has to be optimized, but that's nothing for 3.3.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
