Description vincent_laisney 2009-09-12 13:10:07 UTC
When pasting a HTML <table> from a FireFox window into a Calc document the
program hangs up and does not finish.
The problem existed already with the version 3.0. Sometimes the pasting process
finished after a very long time but the resulting document could not be
scrolled. Each scrolling took an enormous time.
With the version 2.x the time of pasting a HTML <table> was already long but
finished at least.

Example: From the Tiobe Index:
http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index.html
I select the first main table, I make a Ctl-C and in a fresh new oocalc document
a Ctl-V
And the programm hangs up.

Copying from the mentioned URL with Seamonkey on WinXP makes OOo hang here too.
The Webpage does not contain a table, but the content is provided dynamically
via script.
If I try to copy the table from that webpage with Opera, then OOo gets no
content at all.

Workaround: Save the Webpage to a local destination, open it from there with
your browser and copy the content from then.

Thank you for the workaround. I did not try because I thought it could not make
any difference. I've noticed only this morning that the content of the page was
dynamic.
