Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 104420
Impossible to confirm 'Delete cell' using "enter" on numeric keypad
Last modified: 2013-10-03 08:42:34 UTC
This maybe a usability issue I don't quite understand, or a bug. I am using a MacBook with an external keyboard (Apple with numeric keypad, configured French Canadian - but I get the same bahaviour with English Canada). If I press the backspace key the cell is immediately deleted. If I press the delete key, a dialogue box offering several options to delete all, format only, etc. appears. That is normal. However, to confirm the delete action one must use the "return" key (mouse clic on the OK button also works). The "enter" key on the numeric keypad has no effect. The "enter" key works the same way as the "return" key when entering data. With the Windows version, pressing the "enter" key after the "delete" key will confirm the delete action.
NOT reproducible with "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1516435 2013-08-24]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile. Also not with OOo 3.1.1 So might be Mac only or related to special settings on reporter's Computer? @lduplant2000: Still a problem for you?
It is still a problem for me. Thank you. Aug-31-2013
@lduplant2000 I did not write, but of course I meant "with a current AOO"! a) What AOO do you use currently? b) Does the problem persist if you have renamed your user profile <http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/How_Tos/Handling_the_OpenOffice.org_User_Profile> before you launch AOO?
I did a clean install of AOO 4.0.0 US English MAC OS X 10.8.5 today. (i.e. deleted previous user profile and the application itself). Restarted. The problem persists. Using Key Codes application here is what I got with the US Extended Keyboard. Key Down Characters: Return Unicode: 13 / 0xd Keys: ↵ Key Code: 36 / 0x24 Modifiers: 256 / 0x100 Key Down Characters: Enter (numeric keypad) Unicode: 3 / 0x3 Keys: ⌅ Key Code: 76 / 0x4c Modifiers: 256 / 0x100 I hope this helps.
