Description k4os 2009-07-18 01:07:47 UTC
objects that are anchored to page are not movable to other page - I understand
that these objects are strictly bound to that page, but one should be able to
move the anchor by drag and drop, as it is possible with the other anchoring
types. but instead if one wishes to change the page the object is anchored to,
one needs to select another anchor type, drag it to another page, reselect
anchor to page.

to reproduce this, anchor an image to a page and try to drag it to another page

It is possible to drag the anchor. Please try again. Choose the smallest zoom
and multi pages view, so you can see more than one page. Grip the anchor with
the mouse and drag it. When you hit the edge of the window, the view will scroll
after a short time of one second or so. Move to the desired page. Tip: Do not
try to drop the anchor to the corner of the page, but simple drop it to the text
area.

ok, now i got your point, but this is still different behaviour to the other
anchor types, where moving of the anchor by dragging the object is possible. Why
this? Quite counterintuitive

The anchor to page makes an object stick to that page so that it is impossible
to *move* it to an other page.
Only *drag&drop* (moving its anchor or a long click/drag) to an other page works.

I would suggest that page-anchored objects be anchored relative to the upstream
page-break, rather than an absolute page number, so that one can insert a page
before them. This is what seems like "logical" behavior, at least to me. See
my comments in the duplicate issue.

For example, if you have a long document full of page-anchored objects, at
present you cannot add a title page to the front without manually re-positioning
all the objects.
