Hi.

- please open the attached ods (call A1 is focused)

- click the form brush button

- click into the green merged cell

The result is that the cell becomes blue and A4, B4, C4 and D4 are display as
selected.

The first strange thing here is that in the name field A4 is displayed instead
of A4:D4!

Now press the merge button. The 4 selected cells do not merge! You have to
re-select the cell to be able to merge them.

It looks like the selection is not updated correctly after the cells become
unmerged by the format brush.

Alternatively to this step you can apply a format like cell background color.
All formattings are only applied to the cell A4.

I can confirm the described behavior. But this is surely nothing for 3.1.1.
