Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 102945
Mark affected cells by colored border also/already when edit formula
Last modified: 2013-06-19 06:41:59 UTC
RFE Description If you use the function "SUM" e.g. StarOffice 9 Calc following enhancementcan be faced. If you build a sum with different cells you will not see which sells you already marked for creating the sum. But if you click on the cell with the sum you will see the used cells in colour. Also you will get the cells coloured if you select the cell with the sum and press F2 This feature of coloured selected cells should be also available when creating the sum - so you will have the best overview during the creation.
@dlaudien Any reasons why you suggest that only for SUM? Why not also for AVERAGE and others?
Still Reproducible with "AOO 4.0.0-Dev – German UI / German locale [AOO400m2(Build:9701) - Rev. 1493305 Rev.1491054 2013-06-14]" on WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", Common 4.0-dev User Profile In attached _Sample document Cell ranges A1:A10 B1:B10 will be shown with different colored borders when you double click C11, what contains a formula. These colored range borders will disappear immediately if you start to dit the formula, it does not matter whether you edit in cell or input line. Indeed, it would be great to see these borders marking affected cells "just in time" when editing formula, but I am afraid that will not be an easy hack.
