Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 101732
Thumbnails should not have transparent backgrounds
Last modified: 2010-03-11 10:59:02 UTC
When thumbnails are generated, they should have white backgrounds by default as opposed to transparency. This is important because not all file managers use white backgrounds nor should they be required to substitute a background color for thumbnails. I originally filed this bug in gnome-do, which has a black background. Since most of my OOo thumbnails are for documents with black text, this means that their thumbnails are almost invariably impossible to see. The original bug is here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/do/+bug/374388 I'll attach a screenshot of the issue as well. The spec for thumbnails can be found here, but it doesn't speak to the issue: http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/desktop_integration/ooo_file_thumbnails.sxw

Thank you for the patch. I have just integrated it in fwk116 cws.
mav->tm: Please verify the issue. To verify it you can for example store a document with the cws office, unzip it and open "Thumbnails/thumbnail.png" image with gimp ( or any other application that recognizes transparent background ).
mav->tm: Please verify the issue, please see the previous comment for details.
checked and verified in cws fwk116 -> OK !
