Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 100779
Calc: cursor position wrong when moving vertically
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:24 UTC
Microsoft Windows XP, Chinese (traditional-char) OpenOffice 3.0, Chinese (traditional-char) 1. In a cell, using the default font (Arial), enter: C I 2. Move the cursor to the left of the "C". Move down, up, down. Now it has moved to the right of the "I". It should be to the left of the "I". Another way to reproduce the problem: 1. In a cell, using the default font (Arial), enter: C ? I 2. Change "C" and "I" to boldface. 3. Move the cursor to the left of the "C". Move down, down. Now it has moved to the right of the "I". It should be to the left of the "I". Thanks. Qiyao
Reproducible. Reassigned.
Sorry, corrected to "Spreadsheet" and "Calc". I said "Presentation" and "Impress", and you said "reproduced". So do all applications have this problem?
since the applications behave the same (assuming wg tested correctly) I leave it to user experience to decide which is the correct behaviour
It is a little bit unclear to me which application is ment here. The app feld states Spreadsheet, but the behavior described is the current one of Impress. I think tables in Impress and Calc behave differently, because cell traveling in Calc is not possible if a cell is in edit mode. Tables in Impress are more like tables in Writer - both do not know an edit mode. If you compare Writer and Impress, the cell traveling behavior in Writer travels to the same character position in the cell above/below. If this is the problem this issue is about I proose to allign table traveling behavior of Impress to the proven one implemented in Writer.
