Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 22762
Page preview for Selection
Last modified: 2017-05-20 09:53:07 UTC
I am using OO 1.1.0. Although page preview is available for the print ranges defined. However, when I select the ranges manually, through File-Print-Selection, there is no option to see the page preview so that it can be seen how the page will look like and whether it needs any modification.

I also feel like this is a must have feature for OOo.
Dear developers, what is your take on this issue? Is it difficult to implement or redundant?
I'd like to support this RFE. Also, I change platform specification from Windows XP to all OS, as this clearly affects OO.org on all operating systems.

I have traced all the various queries related to this issue and hope that this is the correct one to add my vote to. Can the "Version" number be updated and a "Target milestone" set to indicate that this is a current, outstanding issue? In OOo 2.2.0 Page Preview shows all sheets, even when "Print only selected sheets" is enabled in: Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org Calc > Print This is confusing for all users and creates a particularly bad impression for new end-users who are switching (or being switched) from Excel.
Hi Niklas, these RFEs are in your ownership.
This issue is important and listed on the quarterly review for Calc: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/2008_Q2_Review_of_Spreadsheet_Project Therefore adjusting target to 3.x.

Please give more attention to this request. Page Preview exactly as it will be printed is the most wanted feature requested by me and my users. In my company I "upgraded!!" several work posts from Office to OpenOffice. In my experience this issue in Calc is the biggest drawback comparing to Excel. Followed by copy paste merged cells issue. Continue this great work, Portugal, vmendes
I also request that attention be given to this issue. Its a real paperwaster when selected cells can't be previewed. Anyone here have unused votes, pls put them into this issue. Thanks!
Have you seen the small preview in the new print dialog of 3.3 Beta? That might already solve some of the problems.
Thanks nn. That already helps somewhat. But I've discovered a defect with that, and I opened a new issue. See http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=115266
Switching back to Excel because of this issue.
If I am editing on a worksheet and click on "Page Preview" I expect to see the sheet I am editing. Same for printing. I see this is a long running issue with Open Office, so unlikely to be fixed soon? Sadly I am switching back to Excel 2000
This one is a DUP of "Issue 5804 - Add print preview function to print dialog ". Print Preview always worked fine for selected cell range. If there are remaining problems with Print Preview or Page Preview please submit separate Bug reports. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 5804 ***
