Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 22029
DataPilot - allow to change labels
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:20:21 UTC
Using DataPilot to extract data from a database. Column names in a database are often a bit technical and even more important are only available in the language of the developer (often English). It would be nice if one could change these labels during creation of a DataPilot, so e.g. a tablename1.columnname1 becomes "Nice column name" in the spreadshett. Keep the good work up and best regards. Werner
Hi Bettina, 1 4 u. Frank
I would add that even in a "simple" datapilot, it is not possible to modify headers. It is possible to double click on the label but not to modify it. See the attached screenshot. It would be nice to be able to change this label, and that even if the datapilot is refreshed that this name would stay. See the second screenshot for an idea on how to implement it.

I'm looking into this currently.
accepting it.
An initial spec page has been made.
I think I've done everything I could think of, so I consider this fixed. The only sticking point is that the ODF file format change proposal has not yet been officially approved. But if we could stick in the change as part of the "extended" format that's being proposed for 3.2, we can ship this feature in 3.2.
fixed in koheidatapilot03 cws.
reassign to oc for QA verification.
